A Song For Humanity

Magick From Scratch

I walked
Before any deity coalesced from shadow
I hunted
And stalked the great beasts in the Days of Ice
My path
Has ever been the Path of Red
Red the blood shed for hearth and home
Red the flesh of beast, spit-roasted
Red the blood of woman, renewal and birth
Red the fire mastered by my hand
Lo, I have laid flat the forest
Lo, I have paved the field
Cut the tops off mountains
Raised and flattened temples
Carved rivers and ponds
And set my feet among the stars
I create life; I bring death
For I know the inner mysteries of both
Call me Monster
Call me Fool
But I am anything but weak.
Who am I?
I am humanity.
