Hindu Prayer Interrupted in Senate by Christians
Many people wonder why Pagans often seem hostile to Christians. This is why. Sooner or later, we all get this. Bad form and I would not be so rude. It’s fortunate that not all Christians are like this. This was uploaded February 12, 2012, so be aware that it is not immediate. The video says this:
“Christian activists briefly disrupted a Hindu invocation in the U.S Senate on Thursday, marring a historic first for the chamber and showing that fundamentalism is present and shouting in the U.S too.
“Invited by the Senate to offer Hindu prayers in place of the usual Christian invocation, Rajan Zed, a Hindu priest from Reno, Nevada, had just stepped up to the podium for the landmark occasion when three protesters, said to belong to the Christian Right anti-abortion group Operation Save America, interrupted him by loudly asking for God’s forgiveness for allowing the ”false prayer” of a Hindu in the Senate chamber.”
Shame on these so-called “activists” for their utter disrespect.
I hate calling these far right wingnuts Christians, they are reactionary thugs and less Christian than I am or any almost pagan for that matter.
I don’t want to admit that those Neo-Nazi right wing racist jerk-offs who worship Odin are Pagans either; but they are. I don’t like them, and I don’t want to admit any connection to them, but it’s a fact. “Christian” is a person who believes in Jesus Christ. Hence, these guys are Christians. And I’m sorry to say we encounter a lot of them. I was once approached after leading a Beltane ritual in my public park by a couple of guys who asked me, “Have you heard of Jesus Christ?” I probably should have answered, “No, I was born under a rock,” but then I wouldn’t have gotten rid of them for six hours. Tell me, would you go up to a Catholic priest after Mass and ask him if he’s heard of Cernunnos? There’s no excuse for rudeness.
And people keep asking me why I hate Christians. I don’t hate Christians. I hate Fundamentalist Christians. There is a big difference in the two.
Fundys are obnoxious, arrogant, cruel, self-righteous and mostly have the intellect of a dead turtle, while many if not most, non-fundy Christians are good decent people and relatively sane.
Yes, fundies give them bad names. I like most Christians. I know these guys are the exception.
