Leadership
As my friend JoAnn says:
“I really wish people would grasp this. Leadership in particular is a role we play in certain situations, or a set of personal characteristics, it’s not necessarily a sign of ego. Yet being a leader, by nature or out of necessity, will always attract the wrong kind of attention from some people. And there will also be those who deny leadership when it’s thrust upon them, thinking this is humility, when it’s actually irresponsible and selfish not to take up the mantle of leadership when that’s what’s needed. Leadership, done properly, means service to a cause or a group, and can be the highest form of humility.”
